Our story is rooted in a pursuit of well-being that has been driven by past health issues, the current responsibility of parenthood, and a desire for a better future. We are passionate about creating impeccably clean spaces that don't compromise the health of others or the Earth. That's why we've crafted a cleaning experience centered around nontoxic products. At Clean & Green, transparency and education are behind every aspect of our commitment to your family's well-being. Our hope is to provide a trusted service that is otherwise difficult to find, with the same attention to detail that we put into our own space, all at a competitive rate to bring more "Green" to as many homes as possible. We create more of a personal feel than just a regular maid service would, seeing that we are making more than just a clean space for the present, but a cleaner life for the future.
What we Know
Ready to implement low-tox living into your own home? We understand that it can be difficult to know where to begin- we were there once, too. Deciphering marketing and ingredients is confusing, and feeling like there is a growing list of never ending changes to make in your home is overwhelming. Our number one piece of advice is to make changes as you can and as you see fit. Small changes add up and make a huge difference. The remainder of what you read here will be a small guide of what to avoid, why you should, and our recommendations. Still have questions? Please reach out! Feeling overwhelmed? That's okay, too. This is not meant to scare you and this is definitely not meant to stress you out. After all, stress is far more toxic than anything you will spray in your home. In either case, we are here for you. We are passionate about helping others reach their low-tox goals.
In this day and age, toxins in modern cleaning products are ubiquitous, so naturally we assume that they're safe. If these things were truly harmful to our health, surely they wouldn't be all over store shelves, right? Sadly, no. So when you're shopping for items, here are some ingredients to watch out for: parabens, triclosan, ammonia, fragrance, chlorine, anything with 'ethyl', quaternary compounds, and phosphates. Other chemicals to watch out for are phthalates, VOCs, and PFAS. Because the last three will never be advertised on a product, a good rule of thumb is if you don't recognize it, can't pronounce it, and if the brand isn't transparent, look elsewhere. We also use the Environmental Working Group app for brand safety ratings and research ingredients as needed. For cleaning, we love Branch Basics, ATTITUDE Living, Molly's Suds, Earthley, Thieves, and Force of Nature. For fragrance we love Primarily Pure and essential oils. Simple DIY cleaning solutions are an excellent option, as well. An added bonus of working with us is that we do the research so you don't have to.
